Mysuru-Kushalnagar Highway Project Making Fast Progress
MYSURU: The land acquisition phase for the four-lane greenfield Mysuru-Kushalnagar NH-275 is nearly finished, raising hopes among stakeholders that the project could wrap up before its deadline in December 2027.
This new 92.3-kilometer highway, projected to cost around Rs 2,502 crore, will link Kushalnagar in Kodagu district with the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway near Paschima Vahini in Srirangapatna, Mandya. Once completed, travel time between Mysuru and Kushalnagar is expected to drop to under an hour, and the journey from Bengaluru to Kodagu could take less than three hours.
Official reports indicate that about 18.3% of the construction has been completed. Land acquisition is nearing its end across all four construction packages. Out of the nearly 560.4 acres needed for the project, 98% of the land for packages 2 and 3 is now available, along with 97% for package 4 and 96% for package 5.
Construction progress varies across the packages: 13.6% for package 2 (22.7 km), 24.5% for package 3 (24.1 km), 18.4% for package 4 (26.5 km), and 16.6% for package 5 (18.9 km).
Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar stated that the last of the land acquisition will be completed soon. He mentioned, “The works are progressing as scheduled, and the project may be finished even before the December 2027 deadline.”
Sources say that aside from an 8.5-kilometer stretch in Periyapatna, the entire highway is being developed as a greenfield project, aiming for quicker and safer travel between Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Kodagu.
