The much-anticipated teaser for “Mirzapur: The Movie” has finally been released, giving fans their first look at the beloved series as it makes its way from streaming to cinemas. Director Gurmmeet Singh revealed that the team aims to have an Adults Only certification for the film, raising questions about how the series’ trademark intense scenes and strong language will adapt to the big screen.
In discussing the certification, Singh emphasized that they are committed to keeping the spirit of “Mirzapur” intact while following the guidelines set by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He stated, “We are targeting an Adults Only certification from the start. The CBFC has its rules about language and content, and we’ve worked hard to find the right balance.”
A Shift in Audience Expectations
Singh is optimistic about the changing landscape in cinema, noting that viewers are becoming more open to films aimed at adult audiences. He mentioned successful films like “Animal” and “Dhurandhar,” indicating that such adult-oriented stories are now more welcomed in theaters. This shift allows them to present “Mirzapur: The Movie” without diluting its essence.
