India to Tap Australian Uranium for Nuclear Power Boost

India and Australia Reach Uranium Export Agreement

India and Australia have successfully made an agreement allowing Australia to export uranium to India for its nuclear energy needs. This move is part of India’s plan to generate 100 gigawatts of power from nuclear energy by 2047. Meanwhile, Australia is looking to diversify its trade to lessen its reliance on China, its primary trading partner.

Tragedy in Bangladesh: Rohingya Lives Lost in Landslide

In a heartbreaking incident in Bangladesh, eight Rohingya refugees, including seven schoolgirls and a teacher, lost their lives due to a landslide triggered by heavy rains in the Cox’s Bazar refugee camps. The disaster struck while they were at an Islamic study center. Monsoon rains have caused significant mudslides, affecting over a million refugees living in the area.

Authorities in Pakistan have discovered the wreckage of a cargo plane that went missing near Karachi. The plane was located south of the port of Ormara after a deep-sea search operation. Rescue efforts are currently underway to find the five crew members aboard the aircraft.

South Korean Delivery Riders Face Legal Setback

In South Korea, delivery riders have faced a significant loss in their long legal battle. The Supreme Court has ruled that CJ Logistics, a major delivery company in the country, is not required to sign collective agreements with the riders. This decision allows the company to continue using recruitment agencies, even though many riders work primarily for CJ Logistics.

Ramzan Kadyrov to Run for Chechnya Leadership Again

Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that he will run for re-election as the head of Chechnya. His candidacy has been backed by the United Russia party, despite being omitted from the party’s leader list earlier this year. Kadyrov has held his position for 19 years, and President Vladimir Putin continues to support him. In past elections, Kadyrov has received overwhelmingly high support, but these votes took place without independent monitoring.

Tajikistan Relocation Plan for Families in Hazardous Areas

In Tajikistan, 142 families living in areas vulnerable to geological hazards have been advised to move to safer locations, according to Ilkhom Oymukhammadzoda, head of the local geology department. This recommendation follows geological surveys conducted across 55 villages, part of a state service monitoring geological processes, aimed at enhancing safety in the region.
