Filmmaker Priyadarshan has recently confirmed that he is not involved with the upcoming movie Hera Pheri 3. This comes after producer Firoz Nadiadwala clarified that Priyadarshan’s name should not be associated with the much-anticipated comedy sequel. While Nadiadwala expressed optimism about the progression of the project, Priyadarshan highlighted concerns about its uncertain future due to legal troubles and personal conflicts.
In an interview, Nadiadwala addressed the rumors surrounding Priyadarshan’s participation, stating, “No, Priyadarshan is not part of it.” He reassured fans that the film is making good progress, although specific details regarding the shooting schedule or release date have yet to be shared.
Hera Pheri 3 has faced multiple delays and changes in direction over the years, leading to ongoing speculation about its development. Despite Nadiadwala’s positive update, uncertainties remain.
Responding to Nadiadwala’s comments, Priyadarshan confirmed his lack of involvement with the film. When speaking to a newspaper, he stated, “What Firoz has said is true. I am not associated with Hera Pheri 3 at present.” He also expressed skepticism about the film ever being released, citing ongoing legal issues and personal disputes. “Whether I am involved or not is unimportant,” he added.
The Hera Pheri franchise has seen various creative changes. The original film, released in 2000 and directed by Priyadarshan, became a beloved comedy in Bollywood. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, was directed by Neeraj Vora in 2006.
In 2018, filmmaker Indra Kumar was announced as the director for Hera Pheri 3 but eventually stepped down. Rumors of Priyadarshan returning to direct the new installment had excited fans, but with his recent confirmation, those hopes may have dimmed.
