Prime Minister Modi Welcomed by Indian Community in Nice
Nice, France – On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a heartfelt greeting from the Indian community in Nice during his visit. Many members of the diaspora turned out in large numbers, proudly waving the Indian flag and sharing their emotional connection to their homeland.
One student from Muzaffarnagar, Hasnain Zaidi, expressed how seeing the Prime Minister overseas made him feel a sense of belonging in a foreign land. He shared, “I’ve been here for five years studying, and living abroad can sometimes feel isolating. But witnessing PM Modi today felt like home came to me, even here in a country where we often feel unnoticed.”
Another attendee, Shrishail, who has strong ties to India, spoke about his long history with the Prime Minister. “I’ve been in Gujarat for 25 years, and it’s rewarding to see him again after meeting last year during his visit to the ITER project,” he said. “His support for that project was significant, and it felt deeply fulfilling to meet him again.”
Isabelle Anna, a Kathak dancer, also shared her pride in performing for the Prime Minister. She said, “It’s a real honor to perform in front of him. My colleagues and I were thrilled to showcase Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatnatyam.”
Prime Minister Modi’s trip to Nice marks the beginning of his visit to France, where he is expected to engage in various activities in Evian and Paris. The focus of his visit is to strengthen India’s partnerships both bilaterally and multilaterally.
