Camera Incident During Hungary-Kazakhstan Friendly Match

A camera operator had a close call during a friendly soccer match between Hungary and Kazakhstan when a spider-cam, hanging above the pitch, fell dramatically onto the field. This event took place at Nagyerdei Stadium in Hungary, where both teams were competing without having qualified for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The camera dropped just yards away from the camera operator at the sidelines, leading to a brief pause in the game. Reports indicate that the spider-cam began emitting smoke during the first half because a fire impacted one of its supporting cables. The device, which was suspended over 20 meters in the air, ultimately crashed down near Hungary’s warm-up area.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. To handle the situation, players took a drinks break in the 26th minute. Hungary went on to win the match 3-1, with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai among the goal scorers.
