Trump’s Health Revealed: A Recent Medical Checkup Report

WASHINGTON — According to Donald Trump’s physician, the president is in “excellent health” and fully capable of serving as the nation’s leader following a thorough medical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Sean Barbabella’s report, shared on Friday, details that Trump, aged 79, underwent various tests including a CT scan and heart imaging, alongside cancer screenings from 22 specialists during a three-hour visit on Tuesday. After the examination, Trump expressed satisfaction, stating that everything checked out “PERFECTLY.”

During the exam, Trump weighed 238 pounds, which is 14 pounds heavier than his last check-up in April 2025. His doctors provided advice regarding his diet, exercise, and weight management. They concluded that his physical and cognitive abilities are in good shape. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, Trump’s body mass index (BMI) is 29.7, just shy of the obesity threshold.

The report mentioned some bruising on Trump’s hands, attributed to “minor soft tissue irritation” from frequent handshaking, which is a common and harmless side effect of aspirin use. The physician recommended switching to a low-dose aspirin.

Previously, the White House disclosed that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can cause blood to pool in the legs, which was noted again in this recent exam. However, there was reported improvement, with only slight swelling in his lower legs.

Dr. Barbabella remarked that Trump’s overall health is strong, including his heart, lungs, and brain function. Trump’s busy daily routine, filled with meetings and public appearances, contributes positively to his well-being. He also underwent the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, where he scored a perfect 30, similar to his scores in previous years.

Trump’s cholesterol levels show significant improvement, now at 143, down from 223 in 2018. His regimen includes medications aimed at lowering his LDL (bad cholesterol) and raising his HDL (good cholesterol).

This check-up was Trump’s fourth reported physical since returning to office for a second term. As he prepares for the upcoming midterm elections, he aims to demonstrate his vitality.

While past presidential administrations shared selected health results, there is no law mandating full transparency in health records, and each administration’s approach has varied. Trump’s health reports have faced criticism for lacking detail and skepticism from medical experts regarding some statistics.

As Trump approaches his 80th birthday next month, he remains the oldest individual ever elected as U.S. president. His predecessor, President Joe Biden, left office at age 82 and stepped back from the 2024 presidential race amid concerns about age-related fitness for the role.

Trump continues to address public concerns regarding his stamina and age, often discussing how well he feels. Despite some visible signs of aging and health issues, he maintains a positive outlook, claiming that he feels as good as he did decades ago.
