PM Modi Highlights Job Opportunities for Youth at Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India’s expanding global partnerships in technology, manufacturing, clean energy, and infrastructure are paving the way for new job opportunities for the youth. He noted that the world is increasingly interested in being a part of India’s growth.

While addressing an event virtually, Modi distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 young individuals as part of the government’s Rozgar Mela initiative. He stated that these new recruits would be important contributors to the goal of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047.

“Today, these young recruits are key partners in our country’s development journey. In various sectors like railways, banking, defense, health, and education, they are set to take on new responsibilities,” he said during his address.

Modi congratulated the recruits and their families, acknowledging their roles in driving India’s future. Since the start of the Rozgar Mela initiative, around 1.2 million recruitment letters have been handed out through 18 such events across the nation.

“The Rozgar Mela showcases our government’s dedication to empowering the ‘Yuva Shakti’ with fresh opportunities. The world is keen to join India’s development path,” he added.

The latest Rozgar Mela took place in 47 locations nationwide, with appointees joining various ministries and departments, including health, home affairs, and financial services.

Modi shared insights from his recent visit to five countries, noting that discussions with global firms indicate growing trust in India’s technological skills. Collaborations with nations like the Netherlands and Sweden in areas such as semiconductors and green technology are expected to create jobs for engineers and skilled workers.

He highlighted an agreement between Dutch semiconductor firm ASML and Tata Group, indicating that it will help India advance in next-generation technologies and provide extensive employment opportunities.

“India is also rapidly building its infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, with significant investments in shipbuilding, aviation, and electronics,” he pointed out.

The Prime Minister mentioned plans to develop a comprehensive semiconductor supply chain, expecting at least ten major semiconductor units to be established. Investments of around ₹75,000 crore in shipbuilding are set to create a surge in demand for skilled workers.

He also touched on the expansion of the aviation sector and how the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has supported job creation in electronics manufacturing. Modi remarked that sectors like manufacturing, digital services, and start-ups are generating opportunities at an unmatched pace, while the government continues to enhance skill development and education.

Additionally, Modi noted India’s thriving start-up ecosystem, with over 230,000 recognized start-ups, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities becoming hubs for innovation. He praised the increasing role of women in entrepreneurship, crediting initiatives like Mudra and PM SVANidhi.

Encouraging the new recruits, Modi urged them to approach their roles with dedication and view public service as a form of national service. “The nation has placed its trust in you,” he concluded.
