US Vice President Clarifies Troop Deployment to Poland

WASHINGTON: On Tuesday, Vice President JD Vance announced that the deployment of 4,000 troops to Poland has been postponed, not canceled. He emphasized that it is vital for Europe to become more self-reliant in its defense.

Recently, there were reports from US officials indicating that this troop deployment had been called off, a decision that reflects President Donald Trump’s strategy to reduce the number of American forces in NATO countries in Europe.

Vance, known for his critical stance on European defense and his skepticism regarding US support for Ukraine, pointed out that Trump has been urging European nations to take greater responsibility for their own security since he began his presidency.
