Ameesha Patel Fires Back at “Fake PR” in Bold Tweets, Challenges Actresses Claiming Star Status Without Hit Films

Ameesha Patel recently ignited a conversation about fame, public relations, and box office performance in the film industry through a series of intriguing tweets on X. While she didn’t single anyone out, her comments arrived just after The Hollywood Reporter India, along with Ormax Media, released a list of the “10 stars under 50 dominating Indian cinema in 2026.” Notably, only two actresses made the cut: Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor.

In her first tweet, Ameesha addressed the negativity often spread by certain YouTubers. She encouraged fellow stars not to be disturbed by unsupportive comments, suggesting that those critics are simply maintaining their livelihood by discussing them.

Ameesha went on to differentiate between regular actors and true “superstars.” She insisted that the superstar title should only be held by those who have made significant impacts at the box office. “Call yourself a superstar only if you have accomplished something historic at the box office. Until then, stop playing PR games,” she stated.

Without directly naming anyone, she expressed her concerns about actresses who have yet to achieve solo blockbuster success but are advertised as top stars through marketing tactics. “Many female actresses haven’t even had one solo blockbuster but still call themselves stars,” she pointed out.

Furthermore, Ameesha remarked on how standards have shifted over time, noting that a box office collection of 100 crores doesn’t carry the same weight it once did. She criticized the PR efforts that label certain actresses as the leading stars in the industry.

Highlighting her own successful films like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and Gadar 2, she claimed these titles remain some of the biggest hits alongside her co-stars’ projects as well.

In a confident wrap-up of her tweet thread, she teased the fans about Gadar 3, asserting, “It will definitely come, and when it does, there will be a buzz in the theaters.” She added that a box office collection of Rs 500 crores would just be “the minimum” for the franchise.

Ameesha’s tweets have left fans speculating and debating their meaning.
