A recent announcement by CA Bharati Manoj Daga, acting as the Resolution Professional for Hare Krishna Media Tech Pvt. Ltd., has put the upcoming horror film Haunted – Echoes Of The Past in a difficult situation. Scheduled for release on June 12, 2026, the film, directed by Vikram Bhatt and featuring Mimoh Chakraborty, is now facing legal troubles.
The alert, published in Atul Mohan’s magazine Complete Cinema, warns the Indian film industry against moving forward with any plans to release, distribute, or promote the movie. This warning comes amid proceedings with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Mumbai, involving a dispute between CA Bharati Daga and Vikram Bhatt among others. The resolution professional has raised concerns about alleged preferential transactions related to the company under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
According to the notice, the NCLT issued an order on April 15, 2026, mandating all involved parties to maintain the current situation regarding the case. This order still stands and is applicable to everyone connected to the film.
Despite this ongoing order, some people and groups are reportedly moving ahead to launch Haunted – Echoes Of The Past on or around the release date. In light of this, the resolution professional has urged all distributors, streaming platforms, cinema chains, and others not to exploit the film commercially until further notice from the NCLT.
The notice stresses that any breach of this order could lead to legal consequences, which may include contempt actions.
As the situation develops, the film industry will be watching closely to see how this legal matter unfolds.
