Oil Prices Decline as US and Iran Consider New Proposal
Oil prices have recently dropped below $100 a barrel, with natural gas prices also experiencing a significant decline. This shift in the market comes as Iran reviews a new offer from the United States aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict that has lasted nearly ten weeks.
In London, the benchmark Brent crude oil saw a decrease of up to 12%, settling at $96.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate, a major U.S. oil benchmark, fell by 13%. European natural gas prices took a hit as well, plummeting nearly 14%.
These changes in the energy market highlight the ongoing volatility influenced by geopolitical tensions and discussions between the involved parties.
