Janhvi Kapoor Addresses Misunderstandings About Podcast Remarks

Actor Janhvi Kapoor recently became the focus of online discussions after clips from her appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast were shared without proper context. These edited segments suggested that she was speaking from personal experience regarding alcohol addiction, leading to misunderstandings.

In response to the confusion, Amaha, a mental health organization, along with Off The Rocks, issued a statement clarifying Kapoor’s position in the conversation. They firmly denied claims that she has had any personal struggles with addiction.

The statement read, “We at Off The Rocks & Amaha have noticed that certain media outlets misrepresented the content related to this initiative and Janhvi Kapoor. This is troubling. We want to emphasize that Janhvi is participating as a caregiver and supporter, not as someone with personal experience of addiction.”

They also highlighted the harm that misinformation can cause, pointing out, “Such misrepresentation not only undermines her role but also disrespects the real experiences of those dealing with addiction and their supporters. We should not trivialize these serious discussions just for clicks.”

The organization urged media outlets and individuals to report responsibly and ensure conversations about addiction are approached with the necessary sensitivity. They stressed that misinformation in this field is damaging and disrespectful to the people involved.

During the podcast, Kapoor mentioned alcohol addiction in a general way, clarifying that she has not faced these issues herself. She spoke about her participation in programs aimed at fighting addiction, presenting herself as a supportive figure. However, some reports took her words out of context, prompting the need for clarification.

On the work front, Kapoor is preparing for her upcoming movie Peddi, which is her second Telugu film, following Devara. The movie, which also features Ram Charan, is set to be released on June 4, adding to the excitement surrounding her career.
