SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A sunny Sunday in South Bend was dedicated to raising awareness for mental health through a fun event called Cake in the Park. Organized by Mental Health Awareness of Michiana, this baking competition also served as a fundraiser.

Local bakers brought their best cakes to share, while attendees enjoyed tasting the treats and casting their votes for their favorites. This enjoyable gathering aimed to bring the community together, all while shining a light on the importance of mental health support.

Lisa Kelly, Executive Director of Mental Health Awareness of Michiana, expressed her enthusiasm about the event. “It’s a wonderful way for people to connect and support our cause creatively,” she said.

The funds collected from this delightful event will help support various community programs focused on mental health, including educational classes, public awareness campaigns, and improving access to care.
