Google’s Growth in India

Google is expanding quickly in India as interest in artificial intelligence (AI) rises worldwide. Over the past four years, the company has grown its workforce in the country to around 14,000 employees, with about 5,000 working in Bengaluru alone. Additionally, DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google, is estimated to have around 200 engineers in India.

In February 2025, Google launched Ananta, its new office in Bengaluru, which is designed to accommodate 20,000 employees. Later this year, a new, larger campus is also set to open in Hyderabad, which will become Google’s biggest office outside of its headquarters in Mountain View, California.
