India to Host 9th Edition of International Water Week
New Delhi, April 23, 2026 — The 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) is set to take place from September 22 to 26 this year, under the theme ‘Climate Resilient Water Management.’ This announcement was made by Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil.
Organized by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, the event will feature 49 sessions focusing on various topics within the water sector. The Ministry also noted that approximately 150 countries have been invited to participate, with 11 nations expected to join as partner countries.
The five-day event will include a variety of sessions such as the Ministerial Plenary, Global Water Leaders’ Plenary, and multiple forums dedicated to youth, practitioners, and startups. There will also be opportunities for bilateral meetings to foster collaboration among nations.
This year’s theme emphasizes the importance of managing water resources effectively in the face of climate challenges, making it a crucial gathering for global leaders in the field.
