The Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), linked with Yash Raj Films, has launched the second edition of its YCF Scholarship Program. This initiative aims to assist children from families working in the Hindi film industry who aspire to pursue higher education.
Starting in the academic year 2026-27, this scholarship offers financial support of up to Rs. 5 lakhs for each student. It is specifically available for children of registered workers in the Hindi film industry and YCF Saathi members. The selection will consider both academic performance and financial necessity.
The program is open for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in recognized institutions across India. While it continues to focus on areas related to media, film, and creative arts, this year it has expanded to include postgraduate studies in fields like Engineering, Medical Sciences, Business Management, Law, and Information Technology.
The scholarship will cover tuition fees for eligible courses at institutions that are NAAC-accredited, AICTE-approved, or recognized by the government. The goal is to lessen the financial burden on families seeking quality education.
Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of YRF, expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, “We are excited to support children from Hindi film industry families in achieving their dreams through education. Our findings show that around 60% of these families struggle to fund higher education. These scholarships are aimed at creating a better future for these children. We encourage all eligible families to apply as soon as possible.”
