Actor Ameesha Patel has strongly defended Bollywood in response to comedian Zakir Khan’s comments. Zakir suggested that some in the film industry might be “jealous” of the success of the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Patel quickly countered this idea, emphasizing that Bollywood has always celebrated significant accomplishments rather than envied them.
The situation emerged during an awards event where Zakir joked that the film’s impressive box office results had caused unease in certain industry circles. His remarks triggered various reactions, leading Ameesha to address the issue directly. She urged him to refrain from spreading negativity and stated, “The film industry has valued and respected Dhurandhar.”
In her remarks, she highlighted the success of major stars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Sunny Deol, who have all celebrated numerous hits over their careers. “These superstars have delivered over 25 major hits and will keep doing so,” she pointed out, stressing that success is inherent to the industry.
Ameesha also referred to the long-lasting impact of past blockbusters, indicating that the talent in Bollywood has consistently produced successful films across generations. Her comments come at a time when Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been a hot topic, breaking box office records and igniting discussions about competition within the industry.
While Zakir’s statements were made in jest, they sparked dialogue within the film community, prompting figures like Ameesha to clarify their perspectives on the industry’s dynamics.
