The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has made headlines by issuing a death threat against rapper Badshah due to his song, “Tateeree.” In the song, Badshah is accused of making disrespectful comments about women from Haryana. The gang’s threat surfaced on social media, stating that Badshah had already been warned via a phone call in the past.
One gang member’s post expressed, “Singer Badshah, you are damaging the culture of Haryana. We previously gave you a warning at your club; this time, we won’t hold back.” This message has caused concern among Badshah’s team.
A fellow artist, who prefers to stay anonymous, commented, “Apologies might not be enough sometimes. Why go down that path? There are so many beautiful topics to create songs about. Why focus on disrespectful themes regarding women, especially school girls? Remember when Guru Randhawa faced backlash for similar issues in his song, ‘Azul’? It’s not worth it!”
In response to the controversy, Badshah has stated that he will be removing “Tateeree” from all platforms.
