US-Israel-Iran Conflict Updates: Day 11 of Ongoing War

On February 28, a significant military conflict between the US and Israel against Iran began, and it has now entered its 11th day. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) provided an overview of the situation, reporting that over 5,000 targets in Iran have been hit, and more than 50 Iranian ships have either been damaged or destroyed during the fighting.

US President Donald Trump addressed concerns regarding reports of a possible Tomahawk cruise missile hitting an elementary school in Iran. When questioned by reporters, he stated that he wasn’t well-informed on the situation, emphasizing that the Tomahawk missile is a powerful weapon used by several countries, not just the US. He mentioned that he believed the incident was currently under investigation.

The controversy revolves around an explosion that occurred at a school in Minab, a southern city in Iran, on the same day that strikes began. Authorities in Iran claim that the explosion killed over 150 people, many of whom were children, attributing the attack to the US and Israel. The US, however, has denied these allegations and is looking into the matter. According to a report by a major news outlet, they have verified video footage that shows a missile hitting near the school.

Iran has also announced Mojtaba Khameini, the son of the late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as the new supreme leader after Khamenei was killed in the US and Israel’s strikes on the first day of the conflict. In response, Iran has launched attacks on Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military bases while targeting civilian infrastructure in those regions. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has indicated that Iran would only retaliate against Gulf countries if they were attacked first.

Earlier, Iran’s foreign minister raised concerns about the military’s direction, suggesting that the elite Islamic Guards Revolutionary Corps may lack leadership following the recent changes in authority.
