Prime Minister Modi Reaches Out to Gulf Leaders Amid Middle East Tensions
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in important discussions with the leaders of Oman and Kuwait due to rising tensions in the Middle East. He expressed his worries about recent attacks and focused on the safety of the Indian community in these two Gulf nations.
PM Modi communicated with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman and also spoke with Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah of Kuwait. In both conversations, he shared India’s concerns regarding the security issues affecting these countries and highlighted the well-being of Indians living there.
Following these talks, PM Modi also reached out to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During their conversation, he condemned the attacks that have occurred in Qatar and expressed gratitude to the Qatari leadership for their continued support and care for the Indian community.
In just the last two days, PM Modi has contacted leaders from the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. This outreach forms part of India’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in response to the recent unrest in the region, especially as tensions escalate between the US and Iran.
With a significant number of Indians residing and working in the Gulf, the Indian government is actively monitoring the situation and maintaining close communication with regional leaders to ensure the safety of its citizens.
