Iran’s Foreign Minister Confirms Leaders are Safe Amid Strikes
WASHINGTON: Iran’s foreign minister has reassured that the nation’s supreme leader and high-ranking officials are unharmed following recent strikes by Israel and the United States on Saturday.
In an interview with NBC News from Tehran, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that, “as far as I know,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is alive, along with all senior officials.
Araghchi mentioned that he has communicated with Gulf states, clarifying that Iran does not intend to attack them. Instead, he emphasized that Iran’s actions are focused on defending itself by targeting American bases.
He also noted that there has been no current communication with U.S. officials. However, he expressed that Iran is open to conversations and is keen on reducing tensions. “If Americans want to talk to us, they know how to reach me,” he added.
