Mumbai Metro Issues Advisory to Varun Dhawan Over Viral Video

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has issued a public advisory to actor Varun Dhawan after a playful video of him traveling on the Mumbai Metro went viral. The clip, which was filmed during the promotions for Border 2, shows Dhawan hanging from the grab handles in a moving train.

The video quickly spread across social media, eliciting laughs and sharing among fans. However, the metro authorities took a serious approach to the incident. In a statement shared on their official social media account, they stressed the importance of safe behavior while using the Metro.

The advisory humorously noted, “This video should have come with a disclaimer like the ones in your action movies, @Varun_dvn – Do Not Try This On Maha Mumbai Metro. We understand that it’s fun to hang out with friends, but those grab handles are not meant for hanging! Such actions can lead to penalties or even imprisonment under the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002. So, folks, hang out, but don’t hang in there. Travel responsibly!”

The tweet captured attention not only for involving a popular Bollywood star, but also for its serious tone regarding public safety. The authorities reiterated that actions like these could be treated as nuisances or damage to public property.

While the tweet carried a lighthearted tone, it sparked discussions about the responsibility of celebrities in public spaces. The potential impact of their actions, especially on younger fans, was a clear concern.

As of now, Dhawan has not publicly responded to the advisory. The actor was riding the Mumbai Metro as part of the promotional activities for Border 2, which has been gaining considerable attention.

This incident serves as a reminder from the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation about the importance of following safety norms. By addressing the issue directly, the authorities are reinforcing the message that the Metro is a public space that must adhere to safety regulations, regardless of who is on board.
