Bombardier Global 8000 Receives EASA Certification

MONTREAL – Bombardier has officially received certification for the Global 8000 from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This certification marks a significant step, allowing the aircraft to operate internationally without restrictions.

The Global 8000 is now recognized as the fastest civilian aircraft in the world. It combines remarkable speed with long-range capabilities and top-notch comfort for passengers.

Final Approval for Global Operations

The approval from EASA continues a series of certifications for the aircraft, following certifications from Transport Canada on November 5, 2025, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on December 19, 2025. With the EASA certification secured, Bombardier can now deliver the aircraft across Europe and other regions under EASA’s jurisdiction.

The Global 8000 entered service in December 2025 as Bombardier’s flagship ultra-long-range business jet. It can reach a maximum speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest option available for civilian use.

With a range of 8,000 nautical miles, the Global 8000 can fly longer distances nonstop compared to other business jets, helping reduce travel time significantly for various routes.

Passenger Comfort Focused Design

Passenger comfort has been a top priority in the design of the Global 8000. The aircraft operates at a cabin altitude of just 2,691 feet when flying at 41,000 feet. This lower altitude helps lessen fatigue, allowing passengers to arrive feeling refreshed and ready for their next business or government engagements.

Flexible Cabin Layout

One of the standout features of the Global 8000 is its true four-zone cabin. This innovative design allows for dedicated areas for work, dining, relaxation, and sleeping. It’s ideal for long flights, ensuring comfort and productivity throughout the journey.

Despite its large size and impressive range, the Global 8000 delivers takeoff and landing capabilities similar to smaller jets, allowing access to more airports, including those with shorter runways. Its advanced wing design increases airport accessibility by up to 30% compared to its closest competitors.

Bombardier’s Global Presence

Bombardier specializes in crafting and supporting high-performance aircraft for business, government, and defense clients. The company has a robust fleet of over 5,200 aircraft worldwide, backed by service teams across North America, Europe, and other key areas.

With manufacturing and completion centers in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, Bombardier operates ten service facilities in six different countries, ensuring comprehensive support for its clients.
