Iranian Official Issues Stark Warning to President Trump Amid Rising Military Tensions

Tensions Rise Between Iran and the U.S. Amid Threats from Senior Iranian Official

A high-ranking Iranian official has issued a strong warning to President Donald Trump, claiming that any U.S. military action would lead to retaliation against American forces in the Middle East. This statement comes at a time when sources suggest that at least one U.S. aircraft carrier is being redirected towards the region due to increasing tensions with Tehran.

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, made his remarks during a public address. He stated, “Trump has said his hand is on the trigger. We will cut off his hand and his finger,” referring to the President’s potential military options.

No Ceasefire in Sight

Rezaei further remarked that Iran would consider any military strike as a halt to any discussions about a ceasefire. He urged, “Stop right now. Step back; otherwise, none of your bases in the region will be safe.” His threat coincides with reports that the USS Abraham Lincoln, currently in the South China Sea, may be on its way to the Middle East.

Official statements have yet to confirm whether it is this particular carrier or one of the others recently dispatched from Norfolk and San Diego. Military sources indicate it could take a week for these ships to arrive, and additional U.S. forces may be deployed in preparation for any potential actions.

Background on Mohsen Rezaei

Rezaei has a significant history in the IRGC, serving as its commander from 1980 to 1997. He is currently vice president for economic affairs and a central figure in Iran’s military strategies. In 2006, he was also wanted for questioning regarding a bombing in Buenos Aires in 1994 and was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury in 2020 for his role in endorsing Iran’s aggressive policies.

Unrest Continues in Iran

Meanwhile, protests within Iran are ongoing, having entered their nineteenth day. The Human Rights Activists News Agency reports thousands of arrests and ongoing communication blackouts in various areas. With claims of security forces raiding residential neighborhoods, the situation remains volatile.

Leaders of opposition groups have demanded urgent international attention to secure the release of those detained and to investigate conditions in Iranian prisons.

As these tensions unfold, the world watches closely, anticipating potential developments in this complex geopolitical situation.
