The President of Uganda and the First Lady recently celebrated Diwali by hosting a lively dinner for the Indian community at the State House in Entebbe. The event took place on Sunday evening, and attendees embraced the festive spirit by wearing bright yellow outfits, showcasing a beautiful mix of culture and togetherness. Notable members of Uganda’s Indian community and officials from the Indian High Commission in Kampala were present.

The gathering was led by High Commissioner Upendra S Rawat, who highlighted the strong connections between India and Uganda. He spoke about the important role that the Indian community plays in Uganda’s economy. This dinner at the State House reflected the lasting friendship and cultural ties between the two countries.

In a related celebration, India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, joined the Indian community at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to commemorate Diwali.
