In a lively open ground in the Shela area of Ahmedabad, the traditional garba dance paused for a brief intermission as the night sky was illuminated by a stunning display of drones. These drones beautifully depicted the tale of Maa Durga’s victory over Mahisasura. This cultural showcase, lasting around ten minutes, was part of a unique initiative launched by the Udgamverse chain of Udgam School. The event started on September 22, coinciding with the first day of Navratri, and will continue each night until October 2. With over 200 drones lighting up the sky, the shows included narrations and vibrant visuals that captivated the audience.

In a more serious development, tragedy struck Leh on Wednesday when police opened fire during a protest. The demonstration was led by locals demanding statehood and greater protections for Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule. This violent outburst resulted in the deaths of four individuals, with more than 50 others injured. In the unrest, the BJP office in Leh was set ablaze. Notably, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a hunger strike for 35 days to support these demands, decided to end his fast following the violence.

In another significant event, Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing/Anti-Corruption Bureau (EOW/ACB) on Wednesday as part of an ongoing liquor scam investigation. Chaitanya has been in judicial custody since his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on July 18. During Wednesday’s proceedings, he and another individual, Dipendra Chavda, were taken to a special ACB court in Raipur, where they were remanded in custody until October 6.

Stay tuned for more updates on these stories as they unfold.
