In mid-May, when the summer sun blazes down, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Bhagwant Mann, introduced a new Land Pooling Policy (LPP) for 2025 in Punjab. The plan aimed to gather 65,533 acres of land for various industrial and residential developments. However, given Punjab’s limited land resources and the deep emotional ties people have to their land, it was perhaps too ambitious. The backlash was swift, leading to a quick retraction of the policy just a few months later.
