Success of “Mahavatar Narsimha” Celebrated at Unique Venue
Director Ashwin Kumar, producer Shilpaa Dhawan, and industry figures like Chaluve Gowda from Homebale Films and distributor Anil Thadani gathered to celebrate the success of their animated blockbuster, Mahavatar Narsimha. What made this event special was its location at the ISKCON Temple in Mumbai, contrasting with the typical five-star hotel setting for such occasions.
Chaluve Gowda shared insights into what contributed to the film’s success, touching on how it impacted the performance of another popular movie, Saiyaara. He explained that while the story itself may not be new—having roots in Kannada cinema and the first Telugu color film—what set Mahavatar Narsimha apart was its impressive animation, especially in the final 20-25 minutes that felt almost like live action.
He emphasized that the film wasn’t just targeted at kids; the content was strong enough to attract a wider audience. “Our intention was never to overshadow the success of other films,” Gowda noted. He believes that other movies have run their course and are experiencing a slowdown.
Looking ahead, Chaluve Gowda hinted at exciting projects in the pipeline, including the much-awaited Kantara: Chapter 1, set to release on October 2. Additionally, Salaar 2 is in the works, alongside plans for two more films with Prabhas and a potential project with Hrithik Roshan, although details are still in early stages.
The team expressed eagerness about these upcoming ventures, showcasing their commitment to bringing unique stories to the screen.
