Australia A Women Dominate India A with 114-Run Victory in Second T20I
India A Women faced a tough challenge on August 9, as they were bowled out for just 73 runs in their second unofficial T20I against Australia A Women at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. This defeat, by 114 runs, means India A has lost the three-match series 2-0.
Australia A set a strong target of 187 runs, thanks to Alyssa Healy’s impressive 70 runs off 44 balls. Other key contributions came from Tahlia Wilson, who scored 43, Anika Learoyd with 35, and Courtney Webb who remained unbeaten with 26 runs. For India, Radha Yadav led the bowling attack, taking two wickets for 35 runs, while Prema Rawat also took two wickets, finishing with figures of 2 for 26.
In their chase, India A struggled significantly. The team lost quick wickets early on, and the Australian bowlers, particularly Kim Garth and Tess Flintoff, kept the pressure on. Only Minnu Mani and Vrinda Dinesh managed to score in double figures, both contributing 21 runs, before the innings folded in just 15.1 overs.
India A’s innings fell apart after they lost four wickets during the powerplay. Garth was in outstanding form, ending the match with remarkable bowling figures of 4 wickets for just 7 runs.
