Netanyahu Condemns Hamas, Declares Their ‘Cruelty Knows No Limits’ Following Alarming Hostage Footage

Netanyahu Condemns New Hamas Video Showing Hostage’s Distressing Condition

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly reacted to a troubling video released by Hamas, showing 24-year-old Israeli hostage Evyatar David appearing severely malnourished and digging what he claimed to be his own grave.

Netanyahu condemned the actions of Hamas, stating, “The cruelty of Hamas knows no limits.” He pointed out that while Israel is allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, Hamas is intentionally starving hostages and displaying this act in an abhorrent way.

He emphasized the need for the global community to condemn Hamas’s actions, describing them as a violation of humanity. Netanyahu has also been in contact with the families of both David and another hostage, Rom Braslavski, expressing his shock over the videos that have come to light. He reassured them that efforts to free all hostages are ongoing.

In a heartbreaking release from David’s family through the Hostages Families Forum, they described watching their son “deliberately and cynically starved in Hamas’s tunnels” as one of the most horrifying experiences possible. They called the situation a brutal act of propaganda.

During a large rally in Tel Aviv, David’s brother Ilay spoke out, stating, “They are on the brink of death. This is not just a violation of international law; it is a cruel assault on basic human decency.” He highlighted the devastating impact of Hamas’s actions on their family.

Negotiations for a ceasefire and the release of hostages had previously stalled, prompting the U.S. and Israel to withdraw their negotiators from discussions in Qatar. Recently, U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Israel and Gaza, examining the humanitarian situation on the ground.

Their visit aimed to ensure that aid reaches civilians in Gaza, rather than Hamas. As efforts continue, the urgency to address the suffering of hostages and civilians remains a pressing concern.
