India’s Test Team Sees Changes Ahead of Fourth Match Against England
In a significant update ahead of the fourth Test match against England at Old Trafford, Indian cricketer Karun Nair has been dropped from the playing XI due to his struggles with form in the series. While this is disappointing news for Nair, 24-year-old Anshul Kamboj is celebrating his debut for India.
Interestingly, both players share a birthday, as they were both born on December 6. Nair is the only player from this birthday group not included in the match, while others like Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah will be on the field.
Also celebrating a birthday on December 6 are former Indian players Shreyas Iyer and RP Singh, adding a unique twist to the day. On an international scale, English cricketer Andrew Flintoff and New Zealander Glenn Phillips were also born on this date.
As for the match against England, Kamboj will step in to replace Nair, while Sai Sudharsan will also join the lineup. Nair, in his three match appearances so far, recorded a total of 131 runs at an average of 21.83, with a highest score of 40. He battled through rounds scoring 31, 26, and 40 but couldn’t turn those innings into substantial contributions. Another change in the Indian squad sees Shardul Thakur replacing the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy.
