Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, known for his impactful storytelling, is diving into the world of Bollywood with his latest project, The Wives. This film marks another exciting chapter in his career as he begins shooting in Mumbai.
Earlier this year, the project was announced and features a talented cast, including Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruwala.
Bhandarkar expressed his vision for the film, stating, “With The Wives, I aim to unveil the glamorous façade of society and reveal the truths hidden beneath. This will be a bold exploration of the secrets, challenges, and resilience of women who often remain in the shadows.”
Known for previous works like Chandni Bar, Page 3, and Fashion, Bhandarkar’s films often shine a light on the complexities behind glamorous lives. In The Wives, he plans to focus on the experiences of Bollywood star wives, capturing the luxury, intrigue, and private dynamics that the public rarely sees.
With his experience, Bhandarkar continues to explore the less visible sides of the entertainment world. This film promises a rich look into the personal and social aspects of Bollywood’s elite, showcasing his signature attention to detail.
This film also marks Bhandarkar’s second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain of P J Motion Pictures, following the success of India Lockdown, which received positive reviews during its OTT release.
Jain shared his enthusiasm about working with Bhandarkar again, saying, “It’s truly exciting to collaborate with Madhur sir. He has a unique ability to tell stories that provoke thought. The Wives will undoubtedly be an eye-opener, and I am proud to support a project that feels so relevant and sincere.”
Produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion Pictures, The Wives is anticipated to be another meaningful addition to Bhandarkar’s esteemed body of work.
