Al-Hilal has officially announced that Simone Inzaghi will be their new head coach after he parted ways with Inter Milan. Inzaghi’s departure from Inter came after they lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final and narrowly missed out on the Serie A title, finishing behind Napoli last season.
The seasoned coach has signed a two-year deal with the 19-time champions of the Saudi Pro League as they prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup starting on June 15. Reports suggest that Inzaghi’s salary could reach up to 30 million euros per year. During his tenure at Inter, Inzaghi secured six trophies and led the team to two Champions League finals. Al-Hilal praised him on social media, referring to him as the “Italian Genius.”
Inzaghi’s exit from Inter came after what many considered a promising season, which ultimately ended without any silverware. His team was in contention for a treble but was eliminated from the Coppa Italia by their rivals AC Milan and fell short in the league to Napoli.
His first challenge with Al-Hilal will be a match against Real Madrid on June 18.
### Inzaghi’s Thoughts on Joining Al-Hilal
Inzaghi expressed his excitement about this new chapter in his coaching career. He shared that he has always wanted to coach internationally, and sees Al-Hilal as a fantastic chance to make his mark.
“I am very happy to try this new experience. My goal was always to coach abroad, and for me, Al-Hilal is a wonderful opportunity,” Inzaghi stated.
He emphasized that his aspirations for Al-Hilal include winning titles and bringing engaging, high-energy football to the team. “My goals are clear: to win titles, play entertaining football, and instill my approach focused on speed, intensity, and determination,” he added.
