Sunrisers Hyderabad Coach Lauds Ishan Kishan’s Match-Winning Performance
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s assistant coach, Simon Helmot, has expressed his admiration for Ishan Kishan after a standout performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Kishan scored an impressive 94 runs off just 48 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes, which helped his team post an excellent total of 231/6 in their 20 overs.
This innings marked Kishan’s first fifty-plus score in 12 matches after starting the season with a brilliant century against Rajasthan Royals. Helmot praised Kishan’s ability to pace his innings effectively.
“Ishan played a very mature innings, keeping our momentum going. Our batters did a great job of reading the wicket and understood the need for a big score. Maintaining an aggressive approach was crucial, and having a set batter like Ishan at the end was vital for us to maximize our runs,” said Helmot during the post-match press conference.
Kishan came to bat after a strong opening partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, who added 54 runs in just 24 balls. He worked well with Heinrich Klaasen and Aniket Verma to build solid partnerships throughout his innings.
Kishan reached his half-century in just 28 balls and then accelerated, pushing SRH’s total past 230. With this victory against RCB, SRH now has five wins this season. They are currently in eighth place on the points table, seeking to end the tournament on a high note with their upcoming match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 25.
