Onboard Air Force One: President Trump Comments on India-Pakistan Relations

US President Donald Trump stated on Friday that India and Pakistan need to resolve their differences themselves amid rising tensions following a deadly attack in the Kashmir region, the most severe in nearly 20 years.

While speaking to the media during the flight, Trump referenced the long-standing conflict over the disputed border area and acknowledged that he knows the leaders of both nations. However, he did not provide any information on whether he plans to reach out to them.

"They’ll work it out in their own way," he remarked while on the plane. "There’s a lot of tension between Pakistan and India, but that’s nothing new."

In a related development, the United States condemned the recent attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in 26 fatalities at a popular tourist spot in Kashmir. India has accused groups linked to Pakistan of orchestrating the attack, a claim that Islamabad firmly disputes.

Following the incident, relations between India and Pakistan have worsened. India has suspended an important water-sharing agreement, while Pakistan has restricted its airspace for Indian flights, putting their trade relations at risk.

On Friday, Indian stock markets experienced a downturn due to apprehensions over escalating tensions as Indian authorities searched for the attackers. Although the markets later recovered somewhat, concerns remain high.
