Two Explosions Erupt in Riyadh Amid Ongoing Houthi Attacks
Riyadh witnessed two explosions early Saturday morning, according to a journalist from AFP. This event comes as the Houthi forces from Yemen continue their attacks on Saudi Arabia.
In response to the threat, the Saudi civil defense authorities activated an early warning system to alert residents.
Additionally, the coalition led by Saudi Arabia reported that they intercepted a ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh, as well as a drone launched in the Eastern province.
This month, Saudi Arabia has faced a series of aggressive attacks from the Iran-backed Houthi group, including a deadly strike at the international airport in Riyadh, marking one of the most severe incidents in recent years.
After a fragile four-year ceasefire, violence flared up in Yemen again in July. This resumption of conflict has coincided with escalating tensions between the US and Iran, which have contributed to a wider regional crisis.
The ongoing conflict in Yemen has led to the loss of countless lives in a country grappling with extreme poverty and a dire humanitarian situation.
