In a recent meeting in New Delhi during the BRICS Summit, leaders from Iran and India highlighted the importance of strategic planning to strengthen their relationship.
The President of Iran expressed that the country has faced aggression from the United States and Israel in recent months, but emphasized that the Iranian people have stood resilient in the face of these challenges. He maintained that Iran has always sought regional peace and security, clarifying, “We have been the victims of attacks; we are not the aggressors but defenders against hostility.”
He stressed the necessity of developing a strategic roadmap to boost economic cooperation between Iran and India, saying, “We need to tap into the potential of our two nations to foster stronger economic ties.”
The Indian President also underscored the importance of enhancing relations with Iran. She noted that she has directed the Prime Minister to focus on deepening and expanding bilateral ties in line with established plans.
During the meeting, she acknowledged the significance of the visit, mentioning to Pezeshkian, “Your trip to India after eight years is very important to us.”
The Indian President further remarked on the value of hosting the BRICS summit, seeing it as a significant chance to strengthen connections between countries. She pointed out that joint discussions held during the summit could greatly advance the collaboration between nations.
