A district court in Chandigarh has issued a pre-cognizance notice to Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt Ltd. This follows a complaint related to a fraud case concerning a Being Human jewellery franchise.
The complaint was filed by a local businessman, Arun Gupta, who claims he invested around Rs 3 crores in the venture, encouraged by the assurance of strong financial returns. However, he stated that the promised support was not provided, leading to heavy financial losses.
### Court Notice and Upcoming Hearing
Judicial Magistrate Dr. Ambika Sharma instructed the accused parties to appear in court for the pre-cognizance stage of the proceedings, which is scheduled for October 5, 2026. The court’s notice aims to address the seriousness of Gupta’s claims.
### Allegations of Financial Loss
In his allegations, Gupta mentioned that he invested nearly Rs 3 crores to set up a Being Human jewellery showroom. After spending over Rs 1 crore to establish the store and fulfilling all obligations outlined in his contract with Style Quotient Jewellery, he faced issues once the showroom was operational. He stated that the promised business support was never delivered, and irregular jewellery supply severely impacted his sales, resulting in significant losses.
Gupta noted that the supply outlet has been closed since February 2020, causing inventory shortages and diminishing sales. He asserted that his losses run into several crores.
### Disappointment Over Showroom Launch
Additionally, Gupta expressed his dissatisfaction regarding the showroom’s inauguration. He claims he had been told that Salman Khan would be present for the launch, but instead, actor Aayush Sharma attended.
Gupta also accused six people associated with the company of misleading him about the investment opportunity, which influenced his decision to proceed.
As of now, there has been no public response from Salman Khan regarding the situation.
