RWX Teams Up with OH.io for Exciting Columbus Initiative

RWX Partners with OH.io to Enhance Local Tech Scene

Columbus-based startup RWX has taken a significant step by broadening its partnership with OH.io, a venture platform co-founded by tech leader Ratmir Timashev. This partnership marks OH.io’s first collaboration with a startup from Columbus, showcasing the city’s growing role in the tech landscape.

RWX, which specializes in cloud computing, will benefit from OH.io’s expertise in marketing and sales operations. This connection allows RWX to concentrate on developing its products while OH.io manages their marketing and revenue strategies under a revenue-sharing model.

Importance of the Partnership

This partnership is a key milestone for OH.io, following its recent collaboration with Swiss cybersecurity startup Saporo, which established its North American base in Central Ohio. By working with RWX, OH.io is recognizing the local engineering talent and highlighting the potential for building major software companies right in the heart of Ohio.

A New Business Approach

With this expanded agreement, OH.io will directly integrate its seasoned marketing professionals into RWX’s operations. This means that RWX can isolate its engineering team from sales challenges, allowing them to focus solely on product innovation and improving performance.

The partnership comes after a successful trial period where OH.io helped RWX develop its marketing strategy. According to Alex Purtell, the Director of Demand Generation at OH.io, the success of the pilot program showed that there was a strong demand for RWX’s services.

Revenue-Share Model Explained

OH.io operates under a unique revenue-sharing model. Instead of the typical approach where startups give up equity for funding, RWX will share revenue with OH.io. This structure helps minimize the risks associated with scaling a sales team, making it easier for RWX to grow while keeping financial interests aligned from the start.

Technical Innovations by RWX

Founded by Dan Manges, a former CTO of Braintree, and Tommy Graves, RWX is paving the way for modern software development. With the support of a $7 million seed round, RWX recently introduced a new tool designed to speed up Docker image assembly times, making processes much quicker for developers.

As software development evolves to include AI coding agents, RWX’s infrastructure is designed to support this shift. The platform enables both human engineers and AI tools to collaborate efficiently, ensuring rapid testing and deployment.

A Local Focus

For Dan Manges, partnering with a local company like OH.io was essential. He emphasized that sharing the challenges of scaling with a local partner made the decision straightforward.

For Timashev, this partnership is a crucial step towards achieving OH.io’s ambitious objective of launching around 100 high-growth tech startups in Central Ohio over five years, which could create about 2,000 local tech jobs.

“RWX is precisely the kind of startup OH.io aims to support, and we’re thrilled to do it right here in Columbus,” Timashev stated.
