Toddler and Grandmother Survive Leopard Attack in Karnataka

In a shocking incident in Tattegere village, located about 40 kilometers from Hanur taluk in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka, a toddler and her grandmother were injured in a leopard attack on Friday evening.

The victims, identified as 50-year-old Shivamma and her four-year-old granddaughter Harshita, were targeted while playing outside their home. The attack began when the leopard lunged at Harshita. Hearing her screams, Shivamma rushed to her aid, resulting in the leopard turning its attention to her.

Neighbors quickly helped by transporting the injured pair to a local primary health center before they were later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.

In response to this alarming event, forest department officials began searching the area for the leopard. To capture the animal, a trap has been set in the vicinity, and search operations are also being conducted using a thermal drone.

Authorities are taking these steps to ensure the safety of residents and to prevent any further incidents.
