Global Leaders to Gather in Los Angeles for “The World Comes to L.A.”

LOS ANGELES, June 30, 2026 – Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration is set to host “The World Comes to L.A.,” a weeklong international conference series from July 12 to 18, 2026. This event aims to bring together leaders from business, education, government, and faith to discuss and find solutions for some of the world’s biggest issues.

The conference comes at an important time for Los Angeles, as it prepares to welcome thousands of visitors for the FIFA World Cup and gears up for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The city’s increasing global significance as a center for culture, innovation, and collaboration makes this gathering even more relevant.

A Landmark Celebration

This event is part of LMU’s College of Business Administration’s centennial celebration, emphasizing their commitment to developing leaders who use business for the greater good. Dean Dayle Smith commented, “In these challenging times, there’s a great need for leaders who collaborate across sectors. This week will focus on creating stronger partnerships and meaningful discussions.”

The week will kick off with a special Mass led by Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, who has played a significant role in the Church’s dialogue with global challenges. The closing Mass will be celebrated by Los Angeles Archbishop José H. Gomez.

Key Events

The conference includes three major events:

  1. IAJBS World Forum and CJBE Annual Meeting (July 12-15): A gathering for leaders from Jesuit business schools worldwide to discuss shared challenges and opportunities. The event will feature a keynote from Cardinal Turkson.

  2. The Convening: Tri-Sector Innovation (July 16): This one-day summit will unite leaders from the business, government, education, and nonprofit sectors to tackle important issues such as sustainability and healthcare.

  3. PRME North America Chapter Biennial Meeting (July 17-18): Educators will explore the latest trends in responsible management education and how to foster innovation and global citizenship.

All events will take place on LMU’s Westchester campus, along with excursions to notable locations like Sony Pictures Studios and downtown attractions.

Support and Legacy

The event is made possible thanks to support from several organizations, including IRS Demo, D.K. Kim Foundation, and Sony Pictures Studios, among others.

For a century, LMU’s College of Business Administration has been committed to developing effective leaders and innovators, focusing on ethics, sustainability, and social justice. The school offers a rich student experience through real-world learning opportunities, networking, and global events.
