The highly anticipated multi-starrer comedy, Welcome To The Jungle, is set to hit theaters this Friday, June 26. The film has successfully completed its censoring process, and here’s a look at the changes made by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The CBFC has passed the movie with a U/A 16+ rating but requested several edits. For instance, the line “Kaala paida hua hai, koyla hai” has been modified to “saadah paida hua hai, namoona hua hai.” A 10-second scene containing “na diya” was cut, and the term “screwed” was replaced with more suitable alternatives in a couple of spots. Additionally, the name “Azarudden” was changed to “Allaudin.”
Notably, a dialogue about “Paani of Kashmir” was removed, and the phrase “Yaad karo kurbani, munh mein bhar lo paani” was altered to “Jo shaheed hone ja raha tha, uske munh mein bhar lo paani.” The word “andeha” was substituted with “dheela,” and another line, “desh ki tatti,” was deleted. Changes also included replacing “Izzat le lo” with “Yeh aapke saath jaane ko…” and modifying references to the “Gorkha Regiment” to “Tum army se ho?” The term “General” was replaced by “Officer” and “Sir” wherever it appeared.
As for the visuals, the CBFC required the removal of sensual bikini scenes and close-ups featuring women, particularly those involving Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez. They also replaced some inappropriate hand gestures with a shot of Vindu Dara Singh.
In total, the CBFC requested 14 changes. After these edits were implemented, the film received its censor certificate on June 20. The final runtime of Welcome To The Jungle is 164.50 minutes, which translates to approximately 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds.
