Virat Kohli Set to Make ODI Comeback Against England
Virat Kohli is gearing up to return to the Indian cricket team for the One Day International (ODI) series against England in July. The renowned batter, aged 37, missed the recent ODI series against Afghanistan, which India won by 3-0, due to an injury. However, he is expected to be back on the field during India’s tour of England for a three-match ODI series scheduled from July 14 to July 19, pending fitness checks.
Kohli, who is the second-highest run scorer in the history of international cricket, suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League final. He contributed significantly by scoring an unbeaten 75 in that match.
Despite a strong performance, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been left off the squad for the England series, even after scoring a century in the last match against Afghanistan. Meanwhile, bowler Harshit Rana is set to return from his injury.
The three ODIs will take place at the following venues:
- First ODI: Edgbaston on July 14
- Second ODI: Sophia Gardens on July 16
- Third ODI: Lord’s on July 19
