Paris, June 19: During his visit to France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of the India-France partnership, stating that it has become a vital source of trust and stability amid global uncertainty. He announced that both nations will collaborate on the TRISHNA satellite, set to launch next year, aiming to enhance global food and water security.

Speaking to the Indian community in Paris, PM Modi highlighted the expanding cooperation between India and France across various sectors, including defense, space exploration, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and high-speed rail.

“The world is currently facing many challenges, and at this time, the India-France relationship is emerging as a strong pillar of trust and stability. This year, we have elevated our ties to a Special Global Strategic Partnership,” PM Modi said.

Reflecting on his discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron, he noted their agreement to strengthen their bilateral cooperation for the greater good of the international community. “In Nice, President Macron and I talked about how our relationship can contribute positively to the world. Together, we’re committed to advancing in fields such as defense, space, and various technologies,” he added.

The PM also unveiled plans for the Trishna satellite, which, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is a joint project with France. The TRISHNA (Thermal InfraRed Imaging Satellite for High-resolution Natural resource Assessment) will utilize advanced thermal infrared imaging to monitor land and water resources, providing valuable data on agriculture, climate, and environmental sustainability.

PM Modi further shared that during the past 12 years, India has experienced transformative growth. He mentioned that around 250 million people have improved their living conditions and that India’s exports have grown 35 times since his administration began. The PM noted that India’s mobile manufacturing has surged, making the country the second-largest mobile manufacturer in the world, all contributing to its status as the fastest-growing major economy.

Concluding his visit to France, where he also attended the G7 Summit, PM Modi expressed that serving as Prime Minister for 12 years has been a tremendous honor.
