Henning Larsen Launches New Tech Company Nflection
Henning Larsen has officially unveiled its first tech company, Nflection. This announcement coincides with the launch of jifto, an innovative platform that provides real-time environmental analysis targeted at architects, landscape architects, and urban planners.
Nflection was established by Mariusz Hermansdorfer, who previously led computational design at Henning Larsen and is also an industrial PhD candidate. This marks a significant milestone as it’s the first independent venture to arise from the Danish firm’s innovative ecosystem. The spin-out has garnered support not only from Henning Larsen but also from Denmark’s Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration Programme, the Ramboll Foundation, and Google for Startups.
Jifto streamlines the environmental analysis process right from the design phase. It offers a range of tools that examine factors such as sunlight, shadows, wind conditions, and more, allowing design teams to evaluate environmental variables in a matter of minutes—much quicker than traditional consultancy methods that can take days or even weeks.
This platform also simulates projects against both existing climate conditions and future scenarios projected up to 2075. Currently, a module for biodiversity analysis is in the beta testing phase.
