Indian singer and composer Jasleen Royal has made waves by stepping onto the cricket field, fulfilling a childhood dream of playing alongside the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.
The journey began when a social media video showcasing her impressive leg-spin bowling caught the attention of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and JioStar. Recognizing her unique blend of musical and athletic talent, these organizations invited her to join a special event with cricket stars Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues.
The day kicked off with a candid conversation where Jasleen, Kaur, and Rodrigues shared insights into their respective worlds. They discussed the hard work, pressures, and cultural impacts that define both the entertainment industry and the world of sports.
Next, Jasleen showcased her bowling skills, impressing the cricket icons with her technique and control as she bowled a full over. Her performance left both Kaur and Rodrigues in awe of her abilities.
To wrap up the event, Jasleen returned to her musical roots, performing a live set for the Indian squad. She delighted everyone with her hit song “Heeriye” and her new track “Inaam,” creating an electrifying atmosphere for the team.
Jasleen has long supported women’s sports and frequently shares the achievements of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team with her fans during international tournaments. As a gesture of appreciation, the team gifted her an official jersey signed by all members in honor of her support.
After the on-field activities, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and star batter Jemimah Rodrigues invited Jasleen to travel with the team to the UK for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, praising her impressive bowling skills.
“I can’t believe this is happening. It’s a dream come true for me. Before music, my biggest wish was to be a cricketer,” Jasleen expressed with excitement.
