Young Sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Stuns SRH in IPL Eliminator

In an electrifying IPL Eliminator match, young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showcased his extraordinary skills, leaving the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in shock. The 15-year-old’s explosive innings against the Rajasthan Royals in Mullanpur was nothing short of remarkable.

Sooryavanshi dominated the pitch, scoring an astonishing 97 runs off just 29 balls. Before the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins expressed confidence in his team’s multiple strategies to tackle the young star, but none proved effective.

Sooryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Performance

Vaibhav reached his half-century in a mere 16 deliveries, setting a new milestone for the season. His innings featured a staggering 12 sixes, breaking the record for the most sixes hit by an Indian player in a single IPL match.

In doing so, he surpassed Chris Gayle’s long-standing record of 59 sixes in a single IPL season, a feat that had remained untouched since 2012. Vaibhav was just three runs shy of achieving the fastest century in IPL history when he edged a delivery to third man.

SunRisers’ Failed Strategies

SRH implemented three different tactics to contain Sooryavanshi, all of which failed miserably.

Cummins initiated with yorkers to limit Sooryavanshi’s aggressive play, but this approach only worked for a few balls. A switch to targeting the top of off stump quickly backfired as the youngster sent a stunning lofted drive sailing over the infield.

Next, Eshan Malinga adopted a short-pitched bowling strategy to unsettle him with pace and bounce. However, Vaibhav’s quick reflexes saw him pull the ball deep into the stands time and again.

Out of options, SRH resorted to off-cutters and slower deliveries, but even that tactic couldn’t break Sooryavanshi’s rhythm.

During the powerplay, Rajasthan quickly amassed 80 runs without losing a wicket, with Vaibhav contributing 60 while his partner Yashasvi Jaiswal added just 19.

This aggressive performance also resulted in Sooryavanshi finishing the season with 490 runs in the powerplay, a new IPL record, surpassing David Warner’s previous high of 467 runs in 2016.

A Challenging Day for SunRisers

Vaibhav’s incredible form left the SunRisers rattled. By the time he was dismissed, the Royals had already scored 125 runs for the loss of just one wicket in only eight overs.

After his exit, Dhruv Jurel stepped in and maintained the aggressive momentum, making sure the scoring rate did not drop. Rajasthan reached 136 runs at the end of the 10th over, effortlessly moving past the 150-run mark by the 11th over.

SRH’s bowlers, particularly Cummins, struggled throughout the match, with the captain conceding 51 runs in just three overs, epitomizing the team’s disappointing performance in the Eliminator.
