“Out Loud and Unafraid” Event Promotes Mental Health Conversations in Lima
LIMA, Ohio — As Mental Health Awareness Month draws to a close, Team Outreach Lima is taking steps to encourage ongoing discussions about mental health within the community.
The organization has partnered with Manna Health, Better Life Advocates, and Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership to host a special event titled “Out Loud and Unafraid.” This gathering aims to unite residents in a relaxed atmosphere where they can connect, share support, and engage in meaningful conversations about mental health.
“I think it’s important for people to feel they’re not alone,” said Denise James, President of LACNIP. “Events like this help us talk to each other rather than just collecting information. We want to spark conversations.”
The event will offer a variety of activities, including food, music, guest speakers, mental health resources, and a hygiene giveaway. It’s designed for individuals of all ages to come together and support one another.
“Out Loud and Unafraid” is set for Thursday, May 28, starting at 5 p.m. at the Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership building, located at 1440 W. Spring St.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for a picnic-style evening centered on community connection and support.
This initiative highlights the importance of creating a safe space for discussions about mental health, fostering a supportive network in the community.
