Indian Community in Rome Welcomes Prime Minister Modi with Joy and Pride

Rome, May 20 – The Indian community in Rome warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, expressing their happiness and pride in India’s rising influence on the world stage.

Many members of the Indian diaspora shared their feelings with reporters, highlighting how meaningful it was to meet the Prime Minister. One individual boldly stated, “Meeting him feels like meeting God. I’m so happy to see him again.”

An official from the Italian Hindu Union echoed these sentiments, commenting on the powerful aura of PM Modi: “Whenever he visits, his presence uplifts our spirits. It’s reassuring to see India making such impressive strides.”

Artists who performed during the welcoming ceremony also conveyed their excitement. Kathak dancer Rosella Fanelli described her experience as deeply moving, saying, “Performing for PM Modi was incredible. We waited a long time for this moment, and it felt special. I hope to meet him again in India.”

Another artist, Martina Argada, shared that the Prime Minister praised their performance, making them feel appreciated. “He called our performance excellent, and we are grateful to the Indian Embassy in Rome for this opportunity,” she said.

Francesco Gherardi noted PM Modi’s engagement during their performance. “You could feel his enthusiasm; he was clapping and sharing positive energy with us. It was wonderful to take pictures with him,” he remarked.

Simone Mattiello described the event as joyful, feeling a genuine connection with the Prime Minister. “Our performance was lively, and I think he enjoyed it, especially since he clapped along with us,” he said.

Musician Nicolo Melocchi viewed the event as a fantastic opportunity to perform and briefly interact with PM Modi. Artist Valerio Bruni observed the Prime Minister’s genuine enthusiasm and appreciation for their efforts during the cultural presentation.

Additionally, Svamini Shuddhananda from the Italian Hindu Union mentioned PM Modi’s ongoing support for the Hindu community in Italy. “We met him in 2021, and his backing has helped our mission thrive here. Being recognized in the Italian Parliament is a significant milestone for Hindus in Italy,” she stated.

The event was a heartfelt celebration of culture and a reflection of India’s growing presence on the global stage.
